MS Kvikk greeted by dolphins
On the way to Grip today, MS Kvikk passed a large pod of porpoises
Passengers and crew had a memorable encounter today with a pod of perhaps 150 porpoises. It was likely the Atlantic white-sided dolphin.
The Atlantic white-sided dolphin can grow up to 2.8 meters long, with females being slightly smaller than males. They can live up to 30 years and feed on fish, but also squid. The species is protected.
